New study that models various potential Ebola interventions in Africa concludes that at this point, the epidemic cannot be halted.

This model is reporting 200,000 cases in 75 days based on data from the start of the current outbreak. It is also stating that Africa has a new endemic with this outbreak and extremely fatal disease could be here to stay unless something drastically changes.

The study is specifically saying that even if western levels medical care and epidemiology were transplanted into africa overnight, right now, AND there were things present that don’t even exist now like proven pharmaceuticals, the outbreak would still continue.
