Lakers Pick D’Angelo Russell with the #2 Pick

There was no big trade, and there will be no big man for the Lakers at least not yet as Mitch and company select 6’5 Point Guard, D’Angelo Russell with the #2 Pick. Russell is a pass first point guard with a great touch from behind the arc. His court vision is Magic-esque, but let’s not get carried away. Look at the pass here:

Jordan Clarkson played the point for the Lake Show last year, and he earned All-Rookie team honors. It looks like Clarkson will move to the 2 and the backcourt of Russell & Clarkson should be deadly.

The Lakers are also counting on a long, healthy career from Julius Randle, who they selected in the lottery last year. Randle broke his leg in the first game of the season last year, and sat out the entire season.
