Helsinki hospital readies for possible Ebola patient

On Thursday night Meilahti hospital in Helsinki was preparing to receive a possible Ebola patient. Asko Järvinen, Chief Physician at Helsinki and Uusimaa hospital district, said that it was unlikely this is really a case of Ebola, and that the patient left the region affected by the current Ebola outbreak 22 days ago.

The incubation period for the disease is 21 days. Järvinen said the patient had a high fever and required hospital treatment.

Some 13,000 people have been infected with Ebola in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea during the current outbreak
