Carmelo Anthony to Knicks Fan: “You Are Stuck With Me”

Carmelo Anthony is in it for the long haul. He’s entering the second season of a five-year, $124,064,681 million contract that makes him, quite easily, the highest-paid player on the New York Knicks.

In case you have any questions about Anthony’s motivation as a player, say it to his face—or his Instagram comments section. He’ll happily respond.

A fan decided to test that theory when he questioned Anthony’s love for the game. The comment was along the lines of what we’ve all heard before: he stayed in New York for the money and not for the chance to win.

Per Ian Begley of ESPN New York, Anthony’s response was pure, unfiltered gold.
“Shows how little you know about me. Staying in NY shows that I do care. If I would have left, what would you have said then? ‘Oh, Melos wack for leaving. He turned his back on NY’. FOH. You are stuck with me buddy. Deal with it. If you want me gone, I’ll personally walk you into the front office so you can plead your case of the Knicks trading me. Hope you have bail money bc they might have you arrested for Disturbing the Peace.”
Bravo, Mr. Anthony. Bravo.

Anthony’s interacted with his critics on a number of occasions. One of the most recent examples was when he responded to accusations of hating the Kristaps Porzingis selection in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Anthony laughed at the notion before calling Porzingis a, “Steal.”

If that’s what he’s using social media for, then there’s no reason to do anything but anxiously await Anthony’s next fan interaction.
